The popular dino survival game ARK: Survival Evolved is finally set for release on August 8th, launching on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. What won’t have come as welcome news will be the price hike implemented by Studio Wildcard, who have doubled the price of the game from $30 to $60.
The previously announced price increase has divided many on whether the game is not only worth the price, but also whether its actually even finished. This sentiment isn’t only shared by certain fans, but also by DayZ creator Dean Hall. Taking to Twitter to vent his thoughts on the price increase, he tweeted that the buggy and unready game’s price increase is “****ing outrageous”, though in what appears to be a case of “look who’s talking”, fans on Twitter were quick to point out that DayZ has found itself in a similia predicament.
One response read:
LOL your kidding right? Ever hear of a little game called DayZ?
Whilst another commented:
The absolute cheek of this fella.. ever heard of Day Z mate?
To both responses, Hall chalked the replies up to being strawman arguments, meaning that they were attacking the person instead of the actual statement. DayZ, the open world survival game, released on early alpha back in 2013, and has yet to see a full release on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
Is Hall correct in stating this? Is ARK too expensive? Should DayZ have been released by now on all platforms? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
