Darksiders, the acclaimed hack-and-slash RPG from 2010, is available today on Playstation 4 and Xbox One as the remastered and reworked Darksiders Warmastered Edition.
Darksiders Warmastered in HD
THQ originally scheduled the release of Darksiders Warmastered last month, but faced a slight delay for further polishing. The result is the original, critically acclaimed game now in HD resolution, with 4K available for PS Pro, as well as the impending PC release. The game now boasts a gampe play frame rate of 60 FPS. They have also managed to double all texture resolutions and improved all rendering.
Players again assume the role of War, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Fans of the original game may see Darksiders Warmastered as a game where the visuals finally match the audio. Critics and gamers lauded Darksiders for its action-packed game play, its in-depth story, and also its unusually good voice acting. The cast features Liam O’Brien as War, as well as the voices of J.B. Blanc, Keith Szarabajka, Fred Tatasciore, Troy Baker, and Mark Hamill.
Darksiders’ Comic Origins
Comic-turned-developer Joe Madureira, who now runs his own game studio in Austin, Texas called Airship Syndicate, originally created Darksiders. The rumor mill has been buzzing for years now that Madureira and Hollywood might meet to create a movie based on the game. Those rumors, for now, remain just that.
Darksiders Warmastered will hit PC’s on November 29th. THQ has yet to specify a date for the intended Wii U release. Darksiders was originally developed by Vigil Games, and both the original and Darksiders Warmastered are published by THQ.
