Snail Games has released a new trailer for their upcoming fantasy sandbox survival RPG, Dark and Light, that showcases their optimization for resolutions up to 4K. The video was featured in the ID@XBOX montage, and follows on the heels of Microsoft’s announcement of the Xbox One X, which boasts 4K performance and gameplay.

The trailer runs through a few of the game’s scenes and shots, and indeed boasts a pretty crisp and detailed look. Closed Beta sign up for the PC version began just days ago, on June 9th. According to the page in the Steam Store for Dark and Light, the game will be coming, at least to PC, sometime this year.
Sign ups for that Closed Beta test are still ongoing, and will run through June 15th. The Closed Beta will officially begin on June 20th. At the time of the Closed Beta announcement, Snail Games also released a preview trailer with a good deal of action in it.
The Dark and Light title may sound familiar to some, who remember the tumultuous release of another game with that title back in 2006. That game, developed by NPCube and published by Farlan Entertainment, was fraught with negative reviews and even a lawsuit. Snail Games, who handled the distribution of the original title in China, now hopes to capitalize on the expectations that were held but never met for the original release with this reboot.
