Steam Early Access is a useful took in many ways. For one, it allows players to get their hands on a game before it’s fully done. Two, those players can then send messages to the developer in order to get things fixed before mass release. And three, should the developers listen, the game will be infinitely better (in theory) than when it first arrived. Because of this, games like Dark and Light get massive patches to make their Early Access builds even better. And one has just come out for that game.

Dark And Light is a survival sandbox RPG that has an MMO quality to it. In the game, you are scattered on islands that are the remains of an ancient world. Now, you have to wander the islands and make a home for yourself while also being wary of the animals that call them home, and others that might want to upend your life.

As the team notes on their Steam page, the latest patch is indeed huge, and it focuses mainly on “quality of life” things in the game. This is necessary though as it brings more quality to the title.

For example, some players have been reporting that low settings on textures would cause certain textures to completely disappear. This has been fixed. Also, getting items from creatures on slopes was apparently impossible to do, so this too has been fixed.

The world itself has also gotten a boost both graphically and through the interactions in the world. For example, the rain effect is now more refined (it used to rain inside of houses) and touching magma will cause burn damage.

And that’s just the tip of a very tall iceberg. If you’ve been playing Dark And Light you’ll definitely want to check out the full patch to see what has been adjusted, what has been fixed, and more.
