Every day, Kickstarter brings more and more new things to the mix for people to help fund. And for video games, it’s fascinating to see the variety of things that can come up. Take for example a Cyperpunk Detective Adventure title!  Yep, that’s the base description for a recently launched product called Sector. But this game goes far beyond that. This title is inspired by many things, such as the time period of the 80’s, the ability to explore a big world, the opportunity to guide the story the way you want to, and more.

With a mix of 80’s style visuals in an “alternate near future” and modern video game detective elements, Sector has you in a world where natural resources are fading, yet a new element is tipping the balance of power. You play as a CSR agent named Chaser, who is assigned to the murder of an augmented women. Using your detective skills, you need to solve her case. But as you’ll find out, there’s a lot more going on here, and the paths you decide to take could show you just how big and dark this alternate future is.

First and foremost, Sector is a detective game, and the game proves that by having you trying to solve the case in a variety of ways. You’ll get to go to the crime scene and look for clues, even having special visions that’ll help you find new leads. You’ll interview witnesses or persons of interest, and even hack into the GRID, a place where data is everywhere, you just need to get to it.

The game also makes sure to show you that time passes with everything you do. Each choice advances the game in one way or another. Even how your detective acts mentally is completely dependent on what you have them do.

Sector is seeking $15,000 for funding. If you think this is something you want to see come to life, go help it get funded.
