Crowfall Reveals Big changes Coming Soon

by Ashley Kemp

Crowfall is a fantasy MMORPG currently in its Pre-Alpha stage. The game was successfully crowdfunded with over $12 million raised since its inception. The developers, ArtCraft Entertainment, are constantly updating and adding to the game and today they announced some major changes coming in the next update.

The post, titled “Massive Reveal” Day is Here!, details the many new additions that will be implemented on the 18th of this month. For the sake of everyone involved this article will touch briefly on the most important aspects of the update, so you can check out the full post on Crowfall’s official website. So, what all changed?

Crowfall Mage

First and foremost, classes will (mostly) no longer be race-locked and archetypes have been obliterated. At launch, only a certain amount of races and classes will be available but the end goal is to allow all characters to be and do basically anything. There will be a selection of 12 races (the list of which is available on the Crowfall website) and 11 classes, which can also be seen at length on Crowfall’s site. If that’s not satisfying, there’s also a 4 minute long video on the Crowfall Youtube channel.

Next comes Disciplines – a new system for players that allows them to choose a sort of “sub-class” or profession for their characters. There will be “about 100” in game to choose from, but the developers are quick to remind players that this list is not final and it may be cut short, lengthened, or just changed. These Disciplines are divided into Major, Minor, and Weapon categories which serve to further customize a character.

Lastly is the graphics overhaul which came coupled with a neat little video you can watch right here. The developers called this “a significant leap forward in terms of visual fidelity” and stated that they have been working “directly with some of Unity’s top engineers” to overhaul the lighting system and textures.

Overall, Crowfall seems to be progressing quite well for a Pre-Alpha MMORPG. If you want to get in on the action, you can purchase the game and play it in Early Access right now. If you want more details on this massive update, be sure to check out the full post on the Crowfall website and visit their Twitch channel on the 18th for a full breakdown.

Be nice and share!
