The release of Middle-earth: Shadow of War is just a few short weeks away, and on a pretty much daily basis we are learning more and more about the highly anticipated sequel, in what has been a plethora of trailers, streams, rumors and other drips of information coming in to get us all hyped up for Talion’s return.
One of the hot topics surrounding the game so far, for better or worse, has been the announcement of microtransactions. What has yet to be confirmed however is how much this will cost players, should they choose to indulge in this particular aspect of Shadow of War. It has been stressed already that there is no need for players to fork over their hard-earned pennies in order to progress, with the currency on offer being able to be earned in-game, to a certain extent anyway. To what extent this is remains to be seen, though we are bound to hear something more concrete soon regarding how much of the premium currency we can earn before having to pay with real money.
This has left many of us wondering just how much this currency will cost. According to the official Shadow of War community, it has been mentioned on Discord that Gold will cost $2, whilst Mithril will set you back $6. Of course, this is rather vague, and hasn’t been confirmed by neither Monolith nor Warner Bros, so it’s worth waiting for an official announcement before setting anything in stone. Whether or not players think these prices are fair, they do seem to be around the right price, and hopefully won’t cost anything more than this.
