Berceck, also known as Rebecca, is a cosplayer from Italy who has quite the gallery. She has done cosplays of some of her favorite video game characters. These include Elizabeth from Bioshock Infinite, Flemeth from Dragon Age, Li Ming from Diablo 3, Wizard Mabro Piera from Granado Espada, Rydia from Final Fantasy, and Ashe from League of Legends. She also has tackled some comic book characters like Harley Quinn, Black Canary, Catlady, and Poison Ivy. Other cosplays are based on characters from series such as Azula from Avatar the Last Airbender, Satsuki from Kill la Kill, Madam Red from Black Buttler, and Blair from Soul Eater. She’s even done one of Milady de Winter from the novel The Three Musketeers.
Her most recent photo shots showed her dressed as Miranda Lawson from the Mass Effect Series, who is her favorite female in the series so far. She shared these images with the release of Mass Effect: Andromeda. However, it might be less fun to play the visually comical characters in this title with their stiff faces being a point of criticism on YouTube, along with voice lines that seem to be read out of context and without fitting emotion. Even their website shows almost all the human faces covered with suits and not without reason.
Johnathan Cooper who worked as an Animator for Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2, as well as Assassin’s Creed 3 and Uncharted, discussed this further on Twitter since many people were asking his thoughts on the matter. He first stated that “going after individual team members is not only despicable, but the culprits and choice of target revealed their true nature. Just as we credit a team, not an individual, for a game’s success, we should never single out one person for a team’s failures”. He further noted that as a non-Linear RPG it’s a quantity versus quality trade-off. But he also stated that Mass Effect One had almost 8 hrs. worth of facial animation and now Horizon Zero Dawn has over 15. He noted that the expectations of players will continue to grow.
