The featured image above is not a screenshot. Rather, it’s a photo taken by Alexander Bootsman of Fenix Fatalist, whose real name is Mariya. Fenix Fatalist is a DeviantArtist from Ukraine who has been cosplaying for nine years. She travels around the world doing photo shoots with her partner Virgil. Some of her most notable characters are Triss Merigold from The Witcher 3, Queen of Pain from Dota 2, Alice from League of Legends, Bloodrayne, and Scorpion from Mortal Kombat. She’s also done characters from Horizon Zero Dawn, Overwatch, and Assassin’s Creed, and she has tackled movie characters such as Judy Hopps from Zootopia, the Red Queen from Alice in Wonderland, Princess Merida from Brave, and characters from Star Wars.
Fenix has even done mythical creatures such as vampires and mermaids. For more of her work, check out her DeviantArt, Facebook, and Instagram. Now she’s doing NieR: Automata. The first part of the shoot took place on an abandoned bridge in Kiev. That said, Fenix isn’t getting all the attention. The game itself has sold over 130,000 copies on Steam in less than a week. Hopefully, cutting into some of the loss caused by the cancellation of Scalebound.
For those interested in supporting her, she is currently selling prints of the above photo. She is also selling over 30 costume pieces from previous shoots on Etsy. These include things like Witcher lingerie, a Tracer bomber jacket, and a Sombra gun. To help fund future projects she also has a Patreon. He has been a photographer since 2009 and favors his Nikon D300 camera.
