The latest cosplay showcase hails from the Northeast UK, as our latest featured cosplayer Kovie Kixx gives us a glimpse of her amazing portrayal of World of Warcraft’s Jaina Proudmoore.
As we have done with the other showcases so far, we want to use this as a platform for cosplayers to tell us their inspirations behind their chosen character, and we wanted to know more about Kovie and her journey so far. So here is an in depth look into the cosplay world of the super talented Kovie Kixx, and why she chose to create this homage to the founder and former Lady of Theramore Isle.
“Cosplay has been a big part of my life since 2014, I’ve learnt some awesome skills though this hobby such as electronics and have gained so much confidence and learned a lot about myself by wearing and showing my costumes by going to conventions and entering competitions.
Through my cosplay journey I have made some of the closest friends, it’s amazing how you see someone from across the floor at a convention that is wearing a cosplay of a character you really like and can instantly have a common interest that can start a conversation and lead to a great friendship.
I love playing world of warcraft in my spare time, so what better cosplay to make than one from a game I really enjoy. It took me 3 months to make my Jaina Proudmoore cosplay and included sewing, foam and worbla crafting working with LEDs.
I think it’s important to cosplay as a character you really enjoy, to me Jaina is a great female role model, that’s strong and fights strongly for what she believes in.”
