The Acosta event is an acclaimed tradition for cosplayers, which is regularly held in the Ikebukuro area. This attracts artists to gather over the course of a few days, which took place this past weekend on 26-29th January.
Acosta often features a wide range of cosplay girls that portray their favourite game characters, anime idols and much more. This most recent outing hosted renditions of familiar titles such as “Fate/Grand Order”, “fleet goksho – ship this -“, “idolmaster cinderella girls” and “love live!” among many others. The artists portraying these characters come together to share their work, have photos taken, eat and drink and generally have a great time.
There were long lines across the showcase for photoshoots, highlighting the popularity of the Acosta event. Despite the cold weather, cosplayers braved it out to bring their personal renditions to life for all to see and grab a snap with.
There are several similar events to be held in Japan soon, including “Fight Meeting 2017” which will be held in Makuhari Messe on February 11-12th. Also coming to Makuhari Messe will be “Wonder Festival 2017” the following weekend on February 19th. Meanwhile in March, the 13th “Nihonbashi Street Festa 2017” will be heading to the Osaka-shi Naniwa-ku Nihonbashi area on the 19th, followed by “AnimeJapan2017” being held at Tokyo Big Sight on March 23-26th.
