Conan Exiles game director Joel Bylos has taken some time out to answer some burning questions from a recent AMA on Reddit, and we have detailed some of the highlights below.
Players have been asking about the inspiration from Dark Messiah when making changes to the survival game’s combat system, which raised the question of whether or not a kick would be implemented. The response from Joel was that the kick was massively overpowered, and although they will be bringing the ability to kick in, it will not be on the same level of power as they had tried before.
The answers given also confirmed that trophies for creatures that currently don’t have them will be added before launch, including spiders, scorpions, ostriches, reapers, elephants and so forth. There hasn’t been much mentioned on roads recently, which are still being planned and are part of the design for the settlement system. However, a date has yet to be confirmed for this particular feature.
Players have also picked up on how animations are different for certain crafting stations when active, such as burning bonfires and smelters being lit. There are plans to add more, according to Joel, which will be introduced during the “polish phase.”
There are still plans to have differing entertainers from each nation, as opposed to them all being dancers, though it is not currently priority:
“Yes that is still the plan (we even have the motion capture data). But we’re prioritizing the new combat system animations, so again, I really don’t have a time frame for this.”
