Conan Exiles has been working hard to improve the game since its release on Steam Early Access. From the gameplay aspects, to the story, and more, the team has been working to make noticeable improvements that players would be proud of. On August 16th, the first major expansion will arrive for the MMO, but not all is known about it. Well, if a recent Steam update is to be believed, that’s all about to change. For as the team notes, “Winter is coming.”
Yes, they totally just pulled a Game of Thrones, but in this case, it’s warranted. Conan Exiles is about to get a whole lot of new land via the upcoming expansion, one that offers freezing cold lands to explore, hunt, fight, and survive in. In fact, the expansion is so big that the game world itself will be grown by about 50%. That’s a lot of new places to go to.
And again, we don’t know all that’s coming. The picture on the Steam page update showed a giant monster threatening a town, could this mean major bosses are going to be a part of this expansion? Or, is this a god that you have to try and kill? Or maybe it’s a god you can use to smite your enemies! We don’t know, but they’re going to be revealing everything this week.
The reason for this update is two-fold. First, it’s just part of the natural expansion of the game. But Conan Exiles is going to be hitting Xbox One Preview, their version of Early Access, and the expansion comes bundled with it, so it’s only natural to release it on PC as well.
To be clear, this expansion is entirely free, so if you have the game you’ll be able to jump into these cold Exiled Lands when it arrives on August 16th.
