Ever since Overwatch released earlier this year, it has gained immense popularity across all platforms. Since its inception, it has celebrated seasonal holidays along the way, including the recent Dr. Junkenstein’s Revenge event on Halloween.
Fans have been wondering with Christmas around the corner, if yuletide will be making its way into the Blizzard shooter this year. According to new evidence found on the social media outlet Reddit, sleigh bells could indeed be ringing in Overwatch this year. In the r/Overwatch subreddit, Reddit user Venxa has discovered a Christmas-themed music track found in a data mine from the game’s latest update. To listen to the sound clip, click here.
There hasn’t been any official confirmation on Blizzard Entertainment’s behalf as of yet regarding what the next seasonal event will be. The first two events were the Summer Games which took place in July, followed by the previously mentioned Halloween event that took place last month. A Christmas event for Overwatch wouldn’t come as a massive surprise, given the magnitude of the holiday and the seasonal events that have preceded it. It would also be able to follow suit of other games around this time of the year and throw in a few holiday skins and other types of loot to get our heroes into the holiday spirit.
Meanwhile, in other recent Overwatch news, the game has been making its mark on the eSports scene, with the announcement at Blizzcon this year that they will be making further advancements in the competitive gaming field. Recently, the Overwatch team Misfits recruited Quake verteran Anton COOLLER Singov, replacing Jonathan Kryw Nobre.
Overwatch is now available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
