Camelot Unchained Team Brings New Update

Camelot Unchained is a very large scale MMORPG that is currently in the works. In it, players will get to choose one of three realms to be a part of, then start a journey to conquer the other two while they build themselves up character wise. Given that this is such a large endeavor, the team does weekly updates to let players know what is happening with them and the game. The latest update has gone live, and here are the highlights.

There has been a lot of improvements on the tech side of things for Camelot Unchained. For example, the shadows in the game have been greatly improved. What were once blocky shapes are now very defined entities, and there are more improvements to come with them. Also, the VFX that comes with animations are also advancing nicely. The team is now able to better hone in where effects should start (I.E. from the hand, foot, head, etc.) and once further refinement happens it’ll be a seamless thing. There’s a test video of it below.

One of the most recent big goals for Camelot Unchained is the seamless transition of zones. Meaning that you can wander the world without having to deal with a loading screen. The triggers for these are active and are being tested now. There are some bugs that are being worked out, but this is a major step for them.

The art team has also been busy. The animations of the characters with their weapons is still a key thing they’re working on, but they are making progress with them. Likewise, the VFX and SFX for the game are still being improved and tested and tweaked so that they can look their best for those who test it.
