The recently released Call of Duty: WWII has taken top spot for a fifth consecutive week in the Top 40 UK Charts.
The Activision game’s record equals the one set this year by fellow Activision release Crash Bandicoot N-Sane Trilogy, which too achieved five weeks at No.1. Coincidentally, Crash is now back in the Top 10 once again, so it’s been pretty good going for Activision.
Meanhwile, there isn’t much new to report on the rest of the charts. The top five have stayed the same, with FIFA 18 staying in 2nd, followed by Gran Turismo Sport, Star Wars: Battlefront II and Assassin’s Creed Origins.
Despite a dip in sales, Super Mario Odyssey has managed to gain a couple of places up to number six, with fellow franchise Mario Kart 8 Deluxe surging from 11th to eighth place. There has only been one new release that has made it into the top 40 this week, with Xenoblade Chronicles 2 only able to place 19th on its debut week. Though this might not seem very high, it has managed to beat its predecessor, which only came in at 28th.
So needless to say, Call of Duty: WWII is doing pretty well right now. This was probably more predictable than we thought, given the amount of positive feedback there has been about the game, particularly since its return to the WWII era. Even though there has been a few teething problems, it does remain on top of the pile as far as the UK charts go it seems.
