Since its launch, Destiny has been under constant attack by many players, mainly on Reddit, but on other sites as well. One of the biggest complaints is about lack of end-game content and sometimes content in general. But there’s also been complaints that developer Bungie did “knee-jerk reactions” in terms of fan requests and screwed the game up even more. However, not all fans feel this way, and one decided to spell out how they did fix the Destiny problems, and players just didn’t care.
This comes from Redditor offensive_loons_fan, who wrote a very detailed posted chronicling several problems that were stated in Destiny, fixed by Bungie in Destiny 2 (in his opinion), and how players are now complaining about the fixes.
One example was how Patrolling in Destiny felt pointless. So, in Destiny 2, Bungie gave tokens to players for doing activities in the overworld like Patrolling. These tokens could be used to buy gear. Fans apparently stated that they don’t want tokens to get gear, they just want the gear given to them. This makes no sense to him, because that would mean you’re getting gear for potential doing nothing.
Another complaint was about how RNG was killing players in the first game, and then it literally became “fixed” in Destiny 2, but players state that it’s now “boring”. Which basically turns the argument into “danged if you do, danged if you don’t.”
Several other points were made, and then other Redditors got to respond, and of course, it was mixed.
On one hand, the post has an 81% upvote rating, and has over 4500+ upvotes. So that shows that a TON (2 tons even) of people agree with his line of thought. Yet, there were many on Reddit who state that while his arguments have merit, he missed the point.
They still believe that Bungie made knee-jerk reactions, and some even stated that they “turn it up to 11 or 0, no middle ground.”
So what is the truth? It’s hard to say, it might just be up to each individual player to decide whether they think Bungie did good, or they did bad. What side are you on?
