What Does the Blizzcon 2016 Schedule Reveal About Diablo 4?

By now we have heard all about the Diablo 4 conspiracy regarding the four-sided dice in the Blizzcon goodie bags, which amongst other hints pointed towards an announcement regarding Diablo 4 at the upcoming Blizzcon 2016 event which takes place next week.

Just in time for the show, there has been a new development of sorts, depending on how deeply you want to read into it. According to the Blizzcon 2016 schedule, it seems that Diablo will receive very little stage time on the Friday regarding its 20th anniversary, but has a couple of panels open on the Saturday with Q&A talks and discussing future content. You can check out the full schedule here.

Its also worth noting that the space for Diablo is remarkably bigger on the floor plan from previous years, being perhaps the smallest its ever been in 2015. It may seem very small still, but it isn’t much to read into given the amount of games that Blizzard now has competing for floor space, including the likes of World of Warcraft, Hearthstone and Overwatch. Speaking of the floor space, you may also notice that since its announcement, the Diablo 3 area has always been referred to as Diablo 3 each year. This year however, it is simply referred to as Diablo, which could possibly mean an announcement of a new game or that Diablo 1 and Diablo 2 could be present to celebrate the anniversary.

It seems that Blizzard are still holding their Diablo cards very, very close to their chests. Even with the descriptions of each panel it only hints towards discussing the anniversary and new “epic” content, so read into that what you will. There will even be a “surprise or two” at the Diablo anniversary after-party taking place over the event. For more information, check out the YouTube video below for an in-depth look on what has been rumoured so far.

Are these all signs that we are going to see a new Diablo game at Blizzcon 2016, or are we simply looking for something that isn’t really there? We don’t have much longer to wait now, as Blizzcon 2016 takes place on November 4-5th, where all will be revealed once and for all.
