It seems Blizzard has initiated another round of mass bans in World of Warcraft recently. A new announcement from Blizzard’s community manager Aerythlea indicates that a few naughty players must be quite disappointed right now.
Cheaters and botters have been giving Blizzard headaches since the early days of World of Warcraft and the company is striving to tackle third-party program developers that exploit the MMORPG. There have been quite a few ban waves last year that somewhat managed to intimidate players who continuously used premium programs to bot and cheat. But the most hardcore botters will probably never give up and will simply keep on creating new accounts to continue their harmful activities.
This was the announcement shared by Aerythlea and the community manager further encourages players to report those who are in possession of unfair advantages. Blizzard is currently most likey focusing most of its efforts on Overwatch’s official launch, but that does not mean that cheaters will not be monitored in World of Warcraft. Such ban waves usually result in a short pause for bot developing companies as they are forced to come up with new defensive measures.
Hopefully, Blizzard’s latest action against botting and cheating will get players to think twice before trying again.
