StarCraft is one of the most important games in video game history. It began many things, and to some it’s the start of the eSports movement. Furthermore, it has shown the addictive qualities of video games, as StarCraft is played by millions in countries all over the world. In honor of what the original game did for the video game world, Blizzard is updating the title via StarCraft: Remastered. Bringing in not only updated graphics, but online capabilities the original game could never have had back in its day.
But, for those who never played the original (or even the trio of sequels), you might be a bit overwhelmed by what StarCraft: Remastered is asking of you. After all, it is a high-strategy title. So, Blizzard is giving out some tips as to how to do things, starting with: What faction should you play? It’s a fair questions, as each of the three races are entirely different in how they play. So, here is how you should think about it.
Terran Race (aka Humans): If you like flexibility in your units, if you want units that’ll take a hit and keep on going, if you “root for the humans in science fiction films”, or just think humans in epic armor is cool, then yeah, choose the Terrans.
Protoss: If you like technology, and using that technology to wipe out your foes, if you’d rather outsmart your opponent and outflank them, if you like being an ancient race of the universe, then yes, Protoss are for you.
Zerg: If you believe in overwhelming in your opponents, if speed is the only thing on your mind when battles comes, you like the idea of enemies swarming out of every crevice of the ground beneath you, then yeah, the Zerg are the race you should pick.
Either way, StarCraft: Remastered has a race that’ll benefit your pay style.
