Black Desert Online is an MMORPG that sees itself as the next generation of the genre and now it’s gearing up for its Steam launch. To make the launch extra special though, they’re going to be releasing a brand new class on the same day. This will actually bring the total of the playable classes in the game to 14, a very impressive number for a new title on the market. But, what makes this new class so special?

Well, the class is called he Striker, and is a master of hand-to-hand combat. In a press release, the team revealed that The Striker mixes martial arts with street fighting and precise footwork to overwhelm his opponents with nothing but his bare hands and feet. To that end, The Striker has powerful punches, can chain combo his kicks, and even use grapple moves to take down any enemy in his way.

Adding to the uniqueness of the character, The Striker’s main weapon are the gauntlets on his hands, but he also wields a Vambrace as a secondary weapon. This combination makes him a truly unique character in the class lineup, and so if you’re looking for a very fresh way of playing Black Desert Online, this may be the way to go. Check out The Striker’s debut trailer.

The team also notes that players who are already in the game, and have maxed out their character slots, can get a new slot for one loyalty.

For those who aren’t in the game, other character classes you can play as including the Warrior, Ranger, Sorceress, Berserker, Valkyrie and more. Black Desert Online truly gives you variety so you can enjoy the next-gen MMORPG the way you want it.

The MMORPG launches on Steam on May 24.
