Developer PlayerUnknown has revealed the release date of its Closed Beta Test for their title Battlegrounds. This FPS aims to put the players into a vast world with other players and are called upon to survive the experience. This only gets more stressful as the battle goes on, as the battlefield you fight on actually shrinks, forcing you into confrontations.
Add to that a plethora of weapons and vehicles for you to use to kill your foes, and there’s a lot to do and experience in Battlegrounds. As for the Closed Beta Test, here is what you can expect. First, a large map, the team notes that the Erangel map has been all put together. This includes rivers, swamps, forests, and even a military complex for you to battle it out and survive in. All of them will be in the CBT, but, there will still be polish and such added to them, so not everything is complete in regards to how they look when the beta arrives.
To add to the look, the team has implemented their “real-time global illumination”, which is set to make the game look very realistic in terms of their lighting affects, which is something that a lot of developer studios strive for.
Further adding to the “realism” of the game, the animation system for Battlegrounds was completely reworked by PlayerUnknown, all to make it more realistic. Lest you think this is all window dressing, many of these animations will affect your players movements, such as how quickly they get around, or how fast they reload a gun, or fire a gun, aim, or so on. In fact, all 17 weapons in the CBT will have the new reload animations.
Finally, there will be more refined recoil action with guns, the ability to Level Stream to increase performance, a new UI interface, and destructible environments. The Battleground Closed Beta Test will begin on February 24th, and aims to be open for 4 weeks, giving you plenty of chances to check it out.
