Alphas, Betas, Early Access, all of these things serve a very important purpose in video game development, they allow the potential players of the game to test everything out and see what works and note what doesn’t. Games can drastically change via these builds, and often times, it’s for the better. Such is the case with Battle Splash 2.0. Creator Mai Nguyen Binh Hung took a recent closed beta to make notes on how to improve the game, implemented them, and now he’s released an open beta for it.
The beta itself is live right now, and will go on until September 22nd. Some of the improvements that players of the beta can expect is a brand new map called Paper World. As if that wasn’t enough, the game’s beta will also feature two brand new modes. One is called Team Tactics Mode. This will be a round based game where there is no respawn. Then there’s SBot Guidance, where players will have to disable then capture a robot roaming around the map.
But you might be wondering, what makes Battle Splash 2.0 different from other shooters? Well, one thing that definitely does it is the use of water. In this game, you’re in a giant squirt gun fight, using regular water guns and water balloons. This was intentional as it means that no one “dies” or gets killed via other players, it’s just a contest of getting players soaked to the bone. The game also features some interesting water mechanics, which will make the water act different depending on what environment it’s used in.
There’s also the fact that you can dry yourself off just by running around the arena itself. There are four different classes, and tons of weapons and strategies to use, so if you want to get in on the worlds best water gun fun, go get the Battle Splash 2.0 open beta.
