The Arkham series, comprised of Arkham Asylum, Arkham City, and Arkham Knight, have always had the tagline about “Being the Batman,” meaning that these games were the definitive experience in regards to actually portraying the world’s greatest detective. And in many ways, that statement was accurate. But now, there’s an even better way to be the Batman, by using VR technology in Batman: Arkham VR, which is now available on Steam.

Yep, Batman is now a part of the virtual reality world, and you’ll get to literally be the Batman as you go through the Batcave and out into the city in order to solve an original mystery set in the Arkham games world. One that features a “plot that threatens the lives of Batman’s closest allies.”

Naturally, as Batman, you’ll get to use not only your fists, but the gadgets Batman is known for to traverse Gotham City and stop those who would do you and your allies harm. Plus, once you beat the game, you’ll be able to play it again with all of your gear unlocked, giving you even more freedom and fun to have.

The only caveat for this is that the game is a bit short, but for a VR title, that’s not too bad. And even if you play it for only a few hours, that’s still a few hours where you were Batman. Keep in mind that you will need either the HTC Hive or the Oculus Rift to play Batman: Arkham VR.

The real question here is, what comes next? The Arkham series has been hailed as one of the greatest video game trilogies of all time, and easily are some of the greatest superhero games ever made, so what comes next for Batman in the world of video games? Or, will he step to the side and let another DC Comics character rise up? What would you like to happen?
