Avorion is a sandbox co-op title set in space, where you can not only explore, but build your own spaceship out of materials you find in the cosmos. It’s actually pretty easy to make the ship of your dreams, as the title doesn’t waste time with micromanagement on many levels. The game is on Steam Early Access right now, and the team has been preparing for some big tweaks and updates. One of these was announced yesterday.
First off, the team acknowledges that there have been some severe bugs in their recent debug servers. Primarily, there’s a game crash happening somehow, even though it happens when players have been on Avorion for quite some time, which makes it a rather odd. But, they’re working hard to fix it.
The other big thing is that they’ve set up three testing servers across the world. One is in San Francisco, one in New York, and one in Amsterdam. These testing servers are the next step in bringing the game to life, and they’ll be monitored closely to ensure that the bugs from before don’t come into play, as well as see how you the player interact with the server. The developers state that if the servers do well, they’ll add some more.
For them, the big thing is testing out the game, and finding the source of these bugs so that you can play Avorion with incident or worry. They actually fixed some bugs recently, and detailed their fixes, including changes to the UI for the game, and other general fixes. Regardless, the team is working hard to make their game complete, so stay tuned for more updates.
