Following the Titanfall 2 tech test, which ended late last month on August 28th, fans of the series have wondered as to whether the Attrition mode would be back for the second game. The test itself featured three modes: Bounty Hunt, Amped Hardpoint and Pilot vs Pilot mode, with a new scoring system for players on Assault and Defense.
The Attrition mode pitted rival groups of pilots and Titans to face off against each other, with the added boost of AI allies. In simpler terms, its basically Team Deathmatch with bots included. When PlayStation Lifestyle caught up with Respawn at Tokyo Game Show this year, Art Director Joel Emslie and Chief Operating Officer Dusty Welch shed a bit more light on the situation when questioned as to whether Attrition will be available at launch or a future update.
“Interesting question. I would answer this way: The tech test was a very small subset of the game.” Welch said. “We’re fans of playing (the original) Titanfall and all of its game modes, and just think people will have to wait to see what we provide next. Is that enough of a hint? But we’re all ears. I know the right guy. I know a guy and I think he’s listening.”
Titanfall 2 hits Xbox One, PS4 and PC next month on October 28th, and for an awesome deal on the game head over to GamesDeal for a discounted Day One Edition.
