While it’s always important to look forward in terms of what video games can and will offer us, it’s also important to look back at the games that helped make video games what they are today. The original consoles may not hold up compared to what we have now, but some of their games most certainly do. Take for example Another World (also called Out of this World), the classic action adventure game that was made for the Amiga back in 1991. It turns out that this game inspired many games to come.
Why? Because Another World did a lot of things different in the action/adventure genres. First off, its art style was very different from anything done at that time. In addition, the environment of the game was much more immersive than other games of the generations it was in and had passed. This game is so beloved that it was ported to many modern systems, including 3DS, PS3 and PS4, and Steam.
But to some, what really made it shine was its soundtrack. Music has always been a big part of video games, but Another World had a classic soundtrack that fans still remember to this day. So now, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the game, the team are bringing back the soundtrack for fans to purchase.
The soundtrack is set to come in three different media. You can get it via CDs, you can get a vinyl record, or you can get it all digitally, it’s your choice. The soundtrack features 17 songs from Another World, including certain files that were only used for the Amiga.
So, if you remember this classic game, or you’ve heard someone talk about it and want to see what the hype is all about, go and play it, then come and get the soundtrack.
