Albion Online is preparing for its worldwide launch in July, but there’s still a lot of time before then, so it’s making sure its beta and early access testers have the chance test everything out. Thus, the team has announced that the final update to the pre-launched game will release on June 7th. This “Hector” update will add a lot of features to the title, as well as some changes. There will be a Black Market, certain areas will be removed, other areas will be improved, and more.
First up, the Black Market will come via a very special NPC that can be found in Caerleon, nearly in the middle of the Royal Continent. This guy has some very special items that he’s gotten through some very shady characters. Mainly, the mob. But the items he gets can be added to the chests in the game or to drops that happen when certain enemies are killed. So it actually adds to the stuff you can get without hurting the player economy that Albion Online loves to have.
The Hellgates have also been improved. Now, a new pentagon shaped map is available in these sections, there are new mechanics, and even new minibosses for you to face. Plus, the Hellgates zones are now divided into three different levels of difficulties so you know exactly what you’re getting into by going into them.
Another major area that’s getting improved are the Outlands. The Albion Online team felt that these were too restrictive an area, especially to Guilds who aren’t too big. To fix this, several changes have been made. All harbors and Black Cities are being removed from the game, and a portal will take their place. Plus, resources are going to be more balanced going forward.
The Hector Update will be changing a lot of things before Albion Online goes live, so check out everything about it before diving back in, you may be surprised at the changes that have gone down.
