Say what you will about the Overwatch community, but at the very least, they make their voices be heard. For better or worse, they let Blizzard know exactly what they want. But sometimes, that’s not a bad thing, as in some cases they just want new original content for Overwatch, and that’s not a bad request. Recently, the community has been wanting an event that isn’t tied to the “real world”, but instead is tied to the game world to hopefully give it a little more depth and story.

Given that Overwatch has basically only had holiday events, including Halloween, Christmas, and Chinese New Year, this isn’t unfair to ask. Thankfully, they won’t have to wait long if Jeff Kaplan is to be believed. The Overwatch Director talked with PCGamesN and noted that there will be playable elements in the upcoming April 11th event, King’s Row Uprising. “The event is going to be something – when players see the event and play the event, I think they’ll see that we’ve been listening to their feedback,” he noted to them.

But Kaplan goes one step further by noting that Blizzard is hearing the other fan requests the players have. For example, Kaplan notes that a lot of players are asking for more story from the game. They want to know more about the world as well as the characters. He promises players will get what they want.

Speaking of which, there has been a long desire to see something else in the game, a skin for a certain fan-favorite character…

“I think Widowmaker players who have wanted a skin might be very happy very soon.”

Does this make you excited for the future of Overwatch? Let us know in the comments below.
