Kickstarter: Learn How To Make A Game

This Kickstarter project is taking a different approach, not offering a game or any sort of device, rather a chance to learn how to develop your own video game from start to finish.

This project, titled Creating A Game – Start To Finish is an online course being offered to show aspiring developers how to utilize things such as the unity engine to develop their own game. The course will go over some coding, as well as use of the engine’s terrain editor and much more.

Crowdfunding is being done to raise funds for better audio equipment, so that the course can be audible. There have been milestones set, such as an extension on the course of up to eleven weeks.

This course intends to touch up on every major subject in developing a game in an engine, from actually programming assets to organizing your files. These are all incredibly crucial when working in an engine like Unity, as the way you organize files can often be referenced in your code.

This course also covers the coveted Steam Greenlight process, which a lot of independent developers are interested in using. It’s the most prominent way for a modern developer to get a start in the industry.

If you’re interested in learning how to design, develop, polish and publish a game, this course may be right up your alley. It’s already surpassed its goal, but maybe you’d like to receive one of those nice backer rewards they’re offering. Check out the Kickstarter page right here.
