Final Fantasy XIV Reveals More Red Mage Images

Final Fantasy XIV is proof that any game, or franchise, can come back from a major setback, disappointment, or outright failure. When Square Enix tried to make an MMO for Final Fantasy, FF XI was born. But it quickly became something unplayable, so Square Enix took it down.

When Final Fantasy XIV was revealed, it was meant to be something much better, and it succeeded. With over 6 million players, a successful expansion, and another on the way in Stormblood, the game is firing on all cylinders. And now, they’ve added new pics and details about one of the new classes to come, the Red Mage.

As confirmed during a Tokyo reveal and reported earlier by us, the Red Mage, which has been a fan request job for apparently quite some time, is one of the new jobs available for Stormblood, and will be available immediately upon release. Now what can it do?

Well, the Red Mage will be a hybrid melee and ranged magic character. Its primary weapon will be a rapier, but will have a magicked crystal medium. Furthermore, the Red Mage will be able to chain magic. Red Mages have the potential to deal big damage, then get up close to strike with a melee weapon. Which will no doubt make it a fun job for many players.

These are but some of the thing the Red Mage will be able to do, and its inclusion only scratches the surface of what Stormblood will bring to Final Fantasy XIV. So, are you ready for what it will bring? Are you going to be a Red Mage when it comes out? Click the link at the bottom of the page to see the full gallery of images that Square Enix has released.

What a strange statement to make. FFXI is still up and running, and it has been since 2002. Its most recent major content update was just last year.

  2. The author doesn’t know anything about Final Fantasy at all.

Final Fantasy XI was a huge hit and is still online and being updated today.
