FINAL FANTASY XIV

The FINAL FANTASY XIV Eorzean Home Makeover contest began yesterday, November 21, and has players show off their interior design skills.

Housing is a big part of MMOs and FINAL FANTASY XIV is no exception. Introduced in patches 2.1 (Free Company houses), 2.3 (personal quarters), 2.38 (personal estate), and 3.4 (apartments), homes have been a huge part of the Japanese online game, with most wards of the three available areas being constantly fully occupied by players and Free Companies. Sometimes it’s possible to spot plots of land available for purchase, or it can be even more easy to snatch a small apartment for 500,000 Gil. Whatever the case, the FINAL FANTASY XIV community loves to decorate.

With that in mind, the Eorzean Home Makeover aims to have players demonstrating their decoration skills for a chance at winning special prizes. Going from November 21 until December 5, contestants must decorate a room fitting the cozy theme of winter. Next, they must take four screenshots in each of the four cardinal directions (Noth, South, East, West) to showcase the results. Square Enix will pick up to 50 winners from the North American region, all of which will be able to choose one from the following in-game prizes: a Scarf of Wondrous Wit, an Ahriman Choker, a Mandragora Choker, a pair of Bluebird Earrings, or a set of Noble Barding for your chocobos. Furthermore, a top 3 will be selected. These lucky and talented winners will be awarded a physical TAITO Moogle Lamp on top of their in-game items of choice, to be sent to the address provided on their respective Square Enix accounts.

Those wishing to participate should post their submissions in the entry thread. Additionally, the full details of the contest are available on the official forums.

FINAL FANTASY XIV is a Japanese MMORPG developed and published by Square Enix as part of the legendary FINAL FANTASY franchise. It is available for Windows PC, Mac, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4.
