In honor of the gun-slinging, tomb-raiding femme fatale, below are some cosplayers that also did Lara Croft justice. These cosplayers have placed a good amount of effort not only into making the actual costume but also creating the perfect setting for their respective shots.

In recent years, Tomb raider has become the benchmark for great action games. When the game franchise was rebooted in 2013, the Tomb Raider title received overwhelmingly positive reviews, which led to a number of spinoffs. The most popular one is perhaps Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, which was released for the PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and iOS. Lara Croft’s colossal popularity has allowed her to leap outside her genre and into another form of gaming with Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, which is a pay-to-play title being hosted by the new gaming site Britain’s Got Talent Games. No matter what industry Lara Craft’s character enters, it seems her popularity doesn’t dwindle reiterating that’s she’s one of the most famous video game characters of all time.

With the Tomb Raider film reboot set to be released in March 2018, the world can expect Lara Croft cosplays to become popular again. In fact, in November 2016, a group of Lara Croft fans already honored the classic action hero by cosplaying as her at Paris Games Week. A total of 270 fans cosplayed as Lara Croft.

According to news, one die-hard family even flew in from Spain with each member donning the iconic Lara Croft costume.

“Lara Croft is one of the most vital and iconic characters in gaming, with a powerful legacy and a string of great games under her belt,” said Stephen Daultrey, Editor for Guinness World Records Gamer’s Edition. “It’s fantastic to see so many cosplayers celebrate her in this unique way. I look forward to seeing both this and her covers record in next year’s Guinness World Records Gamer’s Edition annual.”

The Tomb Raider games are currently being published by Square Enix, and developed by Crystal Dynamics.
