The story follows Wake Archus, an incredibly talented youth known as “God’s Gift” because of his unusually high levels of Ether. Due to his endowment, Wake is transferred to a school for talented individuals such as himself. Students at the school are known as “Disciples”, a group of people that have the power and responsibility to save the world of Aterra.

To defeat the demonic monsters terrorizing Aterra, Disciples must perform the process known as “classmating” to create “Star Children”. The stronger the bonds between Disciples, the stronger the produced Star Children becomes. This is where the dating sim aspect comes in. Wake must familiarize himself with seven of the strongest women at the academy in order to create the most powerful Star Children.

Once the preparations are complete, Wake and his band of Star Children must enter an ever-changing labyrinth to destroy the monsters once and for all. The combat is an intricate turn-based system, as expected from a game published by Atlus. The most notable feature about the combat system is the ability to place units in different directions from the enemies. Various benefits are gained by carefully positioning your units.

Until August 22nd, Conception II can be purchased at a 20% discounted price of $15.99 (the original price is $19.99) on Steam. Buying the game before August 22nd also unlocks a special mini-OST, which will not be available afterwards. Start “classmating” today to save Aterra!
