Dark Souls publishers Bandai Namco recently teased a brand new game, with nothing to go off of apart from the tagline ‘Prepare to Dine’. It later emerged that the game would be known as Code Vein, which was accompanied by a teaser trailer which you can see below.

Surrounding this unveiling has been speculation as to what platforms the game would be released on. It has now been revealed by a press release by Bandai Namco that Code Vein will release on what they referred to as major home consoles, so many would assume that means PlayStation 4 and Xbox One at the very least.

What we now know about Code Vein also is that it offers a grueling action-RPG experience, in which players will take up the role of a Revenant to feast on the blood of their foes, as they traverse a vast landscape of an interconnected world. You won’t be embarking on such a perilous journey alone either, with a companion being chosen by the inhabitants of Vein to uncover lost memories and ultimately find a way out.

Code Vein is also accompanied by quite the chilling narrative from what we have heard so far, with an unknown entity wreaking havoc upon the world, as the last few remaining souls fight for survival at the final stronghold, blessed by the gifts of power, but at the cost of their memories and bloodlust. Players will have to prepare themselves for an onslaught of dangerous enemies and unforgiving boss battles if they are to succeed.

Keep an eye out for more information on Code Vein, with the game set for release sometime next year.
