The MMORPG Camelot Unchained is a massive undertaking, one that is built upon the foundation of having three different unique realms interacting with one another in terms of gameplay. And since this is a crowdfunded title, for the most part, the team behind it work hard to update the backers, and curious people, as to what is going on. Though it’s been an “in-between” week for the team, they were able to get their latest week in review up.
For them, the only “down” part of their week is that they’re still trying to set up the Seattle branch of their development team (which when up will help speed up production of the game.) A part of the team is in Virginia, which doesn’t have the same “space” issues that Seattle does. However, they’re confident that they’ll be able to get a space soon and get them set up.
One of the big upticks though was that they’re really close to having seamless transitions in zones in the game. The current and past builds have always had loading screens when a player goes from one zone to the other. But soon, that will no longer be an issue. Plus, you’ll also be able to shoot and fight across zones with no worries, total freedom.
On the tech side of things, many upgrades were made to the programming to allow certain functions to happen. For example, play respawning is getting tweaked so that you’ll either respawn on a plot that you own that is close to where you died, or go to a place that is a default spawn point close to you. Also, you’ll soon be able to interact with objects in the world simply by clicking on them.
Other improvements include art and VFX, the animations of the characters, and more. Be sure to check out the full list, and stay tuned for more updates for Camelot Unchained.
