Keeping things running smoothly is an ongoing problem for MMORPGs. For the game itself is never truly perfect, as bugs, glitches, and more are constantly found and often gum up the game that the developers are trying to make fun. ArcheAge seems to be experiencing these quite often since the 3.0 update.
From simple visual glitches, to game crashing bugs, these are the things developers never want to see. Yet, they happen, and sometimes, they can happen at the worst time. Say…after Christmas? That’s what happened to the Archeage Prophecy European servers today, and this was apparently not planned in the slightest.
The news was reported on the ArcheAge forums, with the team not only apologizing for the downtime of the fresh Prophecy EU server, but explaining that the team is fast at work trying to fix the problem, so that they players can get back on the server and enjoy their title. Well, they did it, and the game is back up, yet one has to wonder what this means.
As the community reveals, the game is crashing repeatedly, and often, many times in places that really hampers their experience. These server crashes are also apparently just the beginning. As dungeon bosses don’t spawn, items are lost during travels, and more. Even we here at MMOExaminer have noted some of the big bugs in the game.
So, what does this mean for ArcheAge? Well, it’s hard to say. It’s clear they still have a loyal fanbase, one who’s willing to wait out these bugs in order to have a fun experience. But, you have to wonder, just how long will they wait before they decide that enough is enough?
